Today, our school hosted an exciting and highly anticipated visit from the Mayor of Manchester, Mr. Andy Burnham. After a warm and enthusiastic welcome from Mrs. Gormally, Mr. Burnham was delighted to take a personal tour alongside our Year 10 prefects. Together, they visited the many departments around school, including our state-of-the-art auditorium, the breathtaking Golborne Wetlands, and even indulged in a spontaneous French lesson from our exceptional MFL department.
The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the engaging interaction between Mr. Burnham and our eager prefects, who seized the opportunity to delve into the world of politics, quizzing the mayor about his personal journey and seeking valuable insights on how to pursue a career in the influential field. Discussion also turned to the mayor's favourite topic: football, which Mr. Burnham was more than happy to answer questions on!
